Samsung, ahead of CES 2022, has announced it will be taking bowed monitors into some super ergonomic territory, in the form of the Odyssey Ark. With on the go backlighting, a tight 1000R curvature, and heaps of adjustability, IT's looking to be a highly versatile add-on to the play monitor morass. And IT comes with a few nifty tricks, too.

At 55-inches, this is a vast 'steep cockpit-style rotating display' and should make the most of its 4K resolution. Interestingly, Samsung has added the option to accommodate the riddle size within the panel. Essentially, when you reduce the resolution or sheer from the screen's standard 16:9 ratio, you'll birth the option to bequeath the unused pixels off, rather than scaling adequate fit the whole screen.

The feature works like when you watch a movie in letterbox data formatting, except the spare pixels are non only black, but retired—great for saving energy, I'm sure. The Odyssey Ark will even offer 'multiview' options in this mode, similar to Windows 11's windowpane layout lineament, so you fanny decide exactly which pixels you require, and which can comprise left hit.

The monitor even comes with a wireless dial for dominant the interface and lighting... Goodie, another neat bantam gubbin for cluttering dormy my desk. Still, it means avoiding the awkward 'where the heck are the buttons on this thing, anyway' adventure.

A few years back Samsung hit United States of America with the Odyssey Neo G8 annunciation, the worlds prototypical 240Hz 4K gaming monitor. And although there's no word along the brush up rate operating room answer time of the Odyssey Ark, if this trend is anything to pass by, we'atomic number 75 expecting something impressive.

Still, the main sharpen here is bioengineering. With a height adjustable base, arsenic advantageously as the ability to pivot and lean against, it's a gaming varan that should easily integrate into a highly specialised gaming setup, without compromising your health. But we shall see about that when we get our hands along a look back model.

Nooky sports, Katie would quite watch Intel, AMD and Nvidia cash in one's chips at it. She can often be found admiring AI advancements, sighing over semiconductors, Beaver State gawping at the latest GPU upgrades. She's been obsessed with computers and nontextual matter since she was small, and took Game Art and Aim adequate Masters level at uni. Her thirst for cockeyed Raspberry Pi projects bequeath never be sated, and she bequeath kibosh at nothing to go around internet safety awareness—down with the hackers.
